Benefits of a fibreglass roof

Fibreglass (GRP) is the ultimate choice for flat roofing.

When it comes to flat roofing, there are numerous options available in the market. However, based on our experience, fibreglass offers the most advantages to our customers.

Waterproof and weather resistant

Fibreglass is extensively used in the marine industry to construct boat hulls, which demonstrates its exceptional waterproofing capabilities. It provides a seamless and smooth solution, eliminating the risk of weak points, leaks, and cracks that other products may have. Additionally, it is highly resistant to all types of weather conditions, including intense sunlight, heavy rain, storms, and even snow. It can withstand these elements for many decades without significant deterioration.

Versatile solution

If you have a complex area to cover, such as an irregularly shaped roof, a roof valley, or the need to install window lights, fibreglass is the recommended choice. It is incredibly versatile and can be molded to fit virtually any shape or design. This makes it perfect for accommodating unique features like seats, roof gardens, or even sculptures.

Cost effective and long lasting

Fibreglass offers both cost-effectiveness and durability, outlasting cheaper alternatives by three times or more. This is why we confidently offer our clients a 15-year guarantee, ensuring they are making a wise investment in a long-lasting and economical solution.

Strong enough to be walked upon

Fibreglass is known for its strength, making it an excellent option for roof decks and other high-traffic areas. In addition to its appealing look, it can be improved with grit to prevent slipping. Moreover, it provides a solid base for roof tiles or wooden decking to be effortlessly placed on top.

Very low maintenance

Fibreglass is an incredibly low maintenance option that doesn't require any special treatment or recoating. If you want to give it a refresh, simply give it a gentle scrub with a brush and soapy solution to remove any surface dirt and bring back its pristine appearance.

How we install fibreglass roofs

  3. We then install 18mm tongue and groove osb board
  4. Prepare the substrate for the installation of the fibreglass roof system by installing  fibreglass trims, cutting fibreglass matting to size and then clean roof
  5. Then we mix resin with catalyst and apply to matting remember to use the bubble buster to remove air gaps to get a true adhesion to the osb.
  6. Once the resin is dried we then sand down any areas that need to be and apply the UV resistant top coat.
