Reroof completed in Lancaster, This property had damp issues due to the degradation of the roof. We carried out this project during storm Kathleen so it was a little bit windy.
We stripped back the old welsh slate and removed the old timber battens and denailed the rafters.
We placed 50mm insulation board between the rafters which run perpendicular to the ceiling internally. at the same time we also removed the old damp loft insulation and replaced it with 100mm base layer loft insulation and then toped it up with 170mm insulation to bring it up to building regs. This job was overseen by building control as there was issues with regarding to damp and mould on upstairs ceilings.
We installed a breather membrane by Klober. we batten out the roof using 2x1 blue battens spaced at 12 inch giving plenty of lap for the Redland charcoal tiles.
We installed a dry joining tray to the neighbours roof and making right of the neighbours slate roof ensuring there roof doesnt leak.
We then installed the ridge tiles fixing with a dry ridge system also designed by Klober.
